Rückblick: Vom Samen über die Blüte zum Kunstwerk
In April some children took a trip out and bought some sunflower seeds and planted them in front of the kindergarten building. Over the following four months the children made regular observations and comparisons of their own height and that of the flowers. Every week the children would be photographed next to the flowers and they were able to make comparisons between the photos and also with their own bodies. The children had to take good care of their plants to look forward to the sunny yellow heads they once should have. In the summer the first flowers bloomed and soon after that the other ones followed. They looked really nice in the foreyard and welcomed everyone visiting us in summer. In September the children visited the library and loaned a book about Vincent van Gogh. Some of the flowers were cut down and the children then took time to paint the sun flowers which had been gathered and placed in a red vase. So we can be pleased by the flowers longer than they actually lived.
