In the stream
From 28th of may until the 8th of June we had the nature weeks in BiLLY kindergarten. That means that each day, a large group of children went up to the forests and streams around our building. During nature week we went to the Ammerbach stream near the kindergarten. There were lots of stones by the little river and the children built a dam to change the flow of the water. Stones were placed appropriately and the children kept their balance wading through the water in there waterproof clothing. The water was cool and refreshing after all the hot weather we have had. Some of the children emerged with dry feet and some with wet socks depending on the amount of exploring they did. There was a little chat afterwards about flow dynamics and if the water stopped if there was more water and how high the water was. Upon our return to kindergarten the children had the opportunity to do a drawing of themselves in the forest and what they had experienced.
